FCCLA
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national student-led organization that focuses on developing leadership skills and preparing students for careers through Family and Consumer Sciences education. FCCLA empowers students to make a difference in their families, schools, and communities by engaging in service projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities. Members build real-world skills in areas such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and career readiness while exploring pathways like culinary arts, education, hospitality, and human services. Through conferences, events, and community involvement, FCCLA helps students grow as leaders and gain the confidence to succeed in both their personal and professional lives.

WHS FCCLA
FCCLA at Westfield High School was established in 2017 and has since grown into a strong, student-led organization focused on leadership, service, and career development. Over the years, members have actively participated in competitions, community outreach, and leadership opportunities at the local, state, and national levels. A major milestone for the program came in the 2024–2025 school year, when Emmy Watson became the first student from Westfield to serve as a state officer, holding the position of First Vice President. This achievement reflects the continued growth, dedication, and impact of FCCLA at Westfield, as students work to build skills, lead with purpose, and make a difference in their community.
Through these experiences, FCCLA has also opened doors for Westfield students beyond the classroom, leading to valuable internships, job opportunities, and scholarships. By developing real-world skills in leadership, communication, and career readiness, members are better prepared to enter the workforce and pursue higher education. Many students have been able to connect with industry professionals, gain hands-on experience, and receive financial support for their future goals, showing the lasting impact FCCLA has on student success both during high school and beyond.
Westfield FCCLA members are actively involved in giving back to their community through a wide range of meaningful service projects. Students participate in local trash clean-up efforts to help keep their community clean and environmentally responsible, while also supporting initiatives like the Prom Project to ensure all students have access to formal wear for special events. Members regularly assist with dog adoption events, helping connect animals with loving homes, and spend time cooking and serving meals at retirement homes, creating positive connections with older generations. Through these experiences, FCCLA members not only make a real impact in their community but also develop compassion, responsibility, and a strong sense of service.
Competitive Events
STAR Events
FCCLA STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Events are competitive opportunities that allow members to showcase their skills through projects, presentations, and real-world applications in Family and Consumer Sciences. These events help students build leadership, career readiness, and technical skills while competing at regional, state, and national levels.
