WHS Culinary Arts

What We Do

The Westfield High School Culinary Arts program is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences content area within Career and Technical Education. Courses range from fundamentals, dietetics, food theory, global cuisine, baking and pastry, tourism, and event planning. Our program is a participant in the National Restaurant Association’s ProStart and ServSafe Manager certification program. Our mission is to provide exceptional food service to the Indianapolis community while providing students with the experiences they need to be life and career ready.

Our Story

In 2017, our program saw the opportunity to provide our students with real-world experience and launched Foodies Rock. Our full scale food service business is student run through our WHS Culinary Arts Dual Credit program and FCCLA members, making up Foodies Rock. When you book an event through Foodies Rock, you are helping our program meet the financial goals set by the students. These goals include new equipment, field trips, financial assistance to attend competitions, state and national conferences, training, and certifications. Our student chefs and floor managers are trained in customer service, costing, advanced cooking, event planning, food safety, and sanitation (many even have their ServSafe Manager certification). Book an event through Foodies Rock to experience the passion, dedication, and joy that our Rocks have for the hospitality industry.
